# Times and Settlements

The Monato platform is available 24/7, but charge processing is tied to Mexican banking business hours. Understanding the processing schedule is important for planning collection timelines.

## Processing Rules

- Charges are only executed on **Mexican banking business days** (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays).
- The platform applies a **daily cutoff at 3:00 PM Mexico City time**. Charges received before this time on a business day are processed the same day.
- Charges submitted after 3:00 PM, or on a non-business day, are held and processed on the **next business day**.
- Charge confirmations and declines are returned by the banking network and sent to the merchant the **next business day** after processing, typically before 12:00 PM Mexico City time.

## Examples

| Submission time | Processing day | Confirmation by |
|  --- | --- | --- |
| Monday 10:00 AM | Monday | Tuesday before 12:00 PM |
| Monday 5:00 PM | Tuesday | Wednesday before 12:00 PM |
| Sunday (any time) | Monday | Tuesday before 12:00 PM |
| Public holiday (any time) | Next business day | Business day after that, before 12:00 PM |

:::info
To ensure same-day processing, submit charges **before 3:00 PM Mexico City time** on a business day.

## SFTP Batch Files

The same cutoff applies to SFTP batch files. The relevant time is when the platform picks up and validates the file, not when it is uploaded. Upload your files with sufficient lead time before the 3:00 PM cutoff to account for pre-validation and input validation processing (typically 5–7 minutes).

## Settlement Timing

Funds from confirmed charges are settled to the merchant according to the settlement schedule agreed at contract signing. Contact the Monato team for details specific to your account.
